I did my 300 when i picked it up used. It is time consuming but not that hard. A lot depends on how bad the scratches are. Materisls are not that expensive. You can geat a small kit for around $40.
Nice looking sailfin. I had one for 24 years at least. It grew from silver dollar size to the size of a dinner plate. Also the main reason I upgraded to a 300 gallon tank. It was a real bummer when I lost him.
I would not get both unless you plan to spend a lot feeding them or have a very large system. They will both likely end up starving to death otherwise.
Weekend bump. I can bring a pound or 50 pounds to Long Beach most week days if the makes it easier for anyone. I am working there for the next 2 weeks or so.
I have some small ones available in 92801. See my sale thread for photos. Mind you they can easily out grow a 6 gallon tank. Also just so you know anemones do not do well in a new tank. It is generally not recomended adding one untill you tank is 6 months old or older.
Just run your primary drain to the reefmat. The secondary should not be flowing that much water and by combining them you may cause noise and other issues.
