The ratings correspond roughly to the number included in the model #. The 150 is rated up to 150, etc.

Bio-load will lessen that rating to some degree. If you'd like to describe your particular setup and have a model recommended, contact jeremy@premiumaquatics.com and he'll walk you through your options!

Sorry, you're correct. I was going off Octopus info, but was looking back pre-DC. I'll get the rating chart for the DC line that's on 12% sale, and post it here.

Only the listed items are on sale. Reef Octopus participates in MAP pricing, so we can only set sales when they announce them. Until they see a need to offer a discount on accessories or spare parts, it'll likely only be "last-year's" models that go on sale.

I've received a lot of questions about what will happen once some of these skimmers are retired...

Here is the link to Octopus' list of skimmers that are being retired.

Parts and accessories will still be available for these models after they are
removed from production - CoralVue is AWESOME about continuing to
provide parts for discontinued models for YEARS after the models are
dropped.

They're claiming that the new generation of skimmers is EVEN BETTER!

My motto is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it..." - I prefer to keep what works for my system, and stock up on spare parts during sales. I'm still running a 12-year-old PondMaster (MagDrive w/ an 18-foot cord) as my return pump. It's gone through 3 impellers, but it's a dependable relic.
If the SRO is what works for you, stick with it! As mentioned, we'll still offer parts and accessories for it, and the warranties are still intact regardless of production.
